2027: Edo Gov Directs LG Chairmen to Erect 360 Billboards for Tinubu’s Re-Election Campaign

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has directed the 18 Local Government chairmen in the state to erect a total of 360 campaign billboards to promote President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election ahead of the 2027 general election.
Governor Okpebholo issued the directive on Friday, January 30, 2026, during the inauguration of the Edo State chapter of the National Renewed Hope Initiative, a group established to drive President Tinubu’s agenda across Nigeria.
Under the directive, each council chairman is expected to install 20 billboards in their respective local government areas to ensure that the “Renewed Hope” message reaches grassroots communities, religious institutions, churches, and mosques.
Governor Okpebholo praised President Tinubu for his reforms in critical sectors including petroleum, security, education, and the economy, describing him as irreplaceable.
“It is not just about the agenda; it is about the capacity to mobilise. The Edo people are prepared. Nobody can beat Asiwaju’s record in governance. We cannot replace a man who is performing,” he said.
He expressed confidence that Edo citizens, from youths to the elderly, are ready to mobilise massively for Tinubu, noting that the presence of 30 APC governors nationwide already strengthens the President’s re-election campaign.
“I want local government chairmen across the 18 LGAs to erect at least 20 billboards each and ensure the Renewed Hope message reaches grassroots communities, religious institutions, churches, and mosques. The religious groups must hear this message. Churches and mosques will be involved, and they will be inaugurated soon,” he added.
Governor Okpebholo also highlighted a pledge of 3.9 million votes for the President from Edo State, noting the combined support of party leaders, women’s groups, and local government structures.
