“The vagabonds in PDP was expelled in November 2025” – Makinde slams Wike over party crisis

The governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde has expressed optimism that the crisis that rocked the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has come to an end.
Makinde while speaking at the 50th anniversary celebration of Oyo State said those who were responsible for tormenting trouble within the party were expelled in November 2025.
Recall that the PDP had expelled the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, and the party’s embattled National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu on November 16, 2025.
The decision to expel Wike and other party members was taken during the PDP’s elective national convention which was organised and led by Makinde in Ibadan, Oyo State’s capital city.
Further referring to those expelled as vagabonds, Makinde said Wike and his like, practised their vagabondism for a whole decade without confrontation but have since been subdued.
His words, “In Yoruba land, we always say that if you see a house or a compound that is peaceful, the vagabond in that house has not grown up.
“The vagabond in PDP, they grew up in 2015, they had their time and ten years, a decade, and they practised their vagabondism in the PDP. But they have been expelled in November 2025, so no more vagabonds in PDP.
“They are wearing rags, dancing in the midnight, don’t worry, day will soon break for them,” Makinde said.
He further told his supporters who were present at the event that he was once part of the team but has since repented and is focused on driving the affairs of the PDP.
“In 2015, PDP lost power at the federal level, there was a gap in the leadership, otherwise those vagabonds would never have been able to take hold of PDP.
“And let me confess, I came into government in 2019 and towards 2023, I was yoked with thembut now I have repented.
“I am now born again but for them to hold PDP for another party to be in power? It is a no, no, no!” Makinde noted.
