NAFDAC Alerts Public Over Fake Recruitment Notice Circulating on Social Media

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has disowned a press release circulating on social media claiming that the agency has commenced a recruitment exercise.

In a disclaimer issued on Wednesday and signed by its Director-General, Prof. Mojisola Christianah Adeyeye, the agency described the recruitment notice as fake, stating that it did not originate from NAFDAC.

“Our attention has been drawn to a fake press release on the planned NAFDAC recruitment exercise circulating on social media.

“While NAFDAC from time to time carries out recruitment exercises to engage qualified Nigerians, the press release in circulation and its content are fake,” the statement said.

The agency urged members of the public to disregard the message and avoid falling victim to fraudsters, emphasising that no recruitment exercise has been announced.

“NAFDAC has not issued any press release announcing new recruitment,” the statement said.

According to the agency, such false notices are often circulated by individuals attempting to extort money from unsuspecting job seekers under the guise of application or processing fees.

NAFDAC further clarified that all official information, including recruitment announcements, is communicated only through its verified channels.

“Authentic information from NAFDAC is published exclusively on the official NAFDAC website and recognised media platforms,” the agency said.

It advised Nigerians, particularly job seekers, to remain vigilant and always verify information before responding to recruitment-related announcements, warning that the agency does not charge any fee for employment opportunities.
