JUST IN: INEC Holds Meeting With Wike PDP Faction in Abuja

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially engaged with the Nyesom Wike-aligned faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during its quarterly consultative meeting with political parties on Thursday.

The meeting, held at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja, saw the leadership of the Wike-backed Caretaker Committee taking center stage as the recognized representatives of the main opposition party.

Among those in attendance were the Acting National Chairman, Abdulrahman Mohammed; the Acting National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu; and the National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature.

Politics Nigeria reports that at the venue, the commission provided designated seating for the team, with Mohammed occupying the chair reserved for the “PDP Chairman” and Anyanwu seated directly behind him in the spot marked for the “PDP National Secretary.”

This development follows a major legal victory for the group last Friday, when a Federal High Court in Ibadan nullified the PDP National Convention held on November 15, 2025.

Details to follow later…
