Kwara killings: “Survivors receiving medical treatment in Ilorin” – Lawmaker

The lawmaker representing Kwara North Senatorial District, Sadiq Umar has said that over 50 survivors of a bandit attack on two villages in the Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State are currently receiving medical treatment.
Umar who paid a visit to the victims said they are receiving medical attention in various hospitals in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital City.
According to the lawmaker, the victims had sustained various degrees of injury when bandits invaded the Woro community on Tuesday.
The attackers were said to have killed over 100 residents who failed to conform to their jihadist indoctrination.
Several houses within the affected communities were also destroyed and set ablaze while dozens of women and children were said to have been abducted by the bandits.
Speaking on the incident and way forward, Umar assured the victims of his committment to support them through their recovery period.
While condoling with the families of the deceased, the lawmaker empathised with those suffering from gunshot wounds and other injuries.
He also described the attack by the suspected terrorists on the communities in the state as heartbreaking.
The lawmaker called on the government and security agencies to ensure sustained operations across Kwara North, as the district has continued to experience security challenges.
He also advised residents to remain united, hopeful, and prayerful, while stating that the well-being of members of his constituency remains paramount to him
