Terrorists Kidnap Kaduna Lawmaker While Returning from Official Trip

A member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly has been abducted by suspected terrorists while travelling back to the state from an official assignment.
The incident involved Honourable Usman Garba, also known as Zingo, who represents Kajuru Constituency in the Assembly.
He was taken on Wednesday, February 11, during a return journey from Zamfara State to Kaduna.
Details available indicate that the attack happened along the highway close to Kaduna. Armed men reportedly intercepted the vehicle conveying the lawmaker and forced it to stop.
A post shared on X about the incident read:
“BREAKING: Hon. Usman Garba Zingo has reportedly been abducted by armed bandits while traveling from Zamfara to Kaduna today. The incident adds to growing concerns over insecurity along the highways in North-West region, as calls mount for urgent action. How are security agencies responding to escalating abductions on highways?”
Witness accounts suggest that the attackers dragged the lawmaker out of the vehicle and drove off with him, leaving his driver behind at the scene.
The driver was said to have immediately alerted security operatives at a nearby police station. By the time officers moved to the location, the gunmen had already escaped with their victim.
As of the time this report was filed, no contact had been made with the lawmaker’s family or the Kaduna State Government. There has also been no information on whether the abductors have made any demands.
