Abia students to benefit from sponsorships as pro-Tinubu group funds 10,000 JAMB registrations

The South East Renewed Hope Agenda (SERHA) has launched a free JAMB scholarship scheme for 10,000 students across the 17 local government areas of Abia State.

The initiative was unveiled in Umuahia, the state capital.

Belusochukwu Enwere, national coordinator of SERHA, described the programme as an investment in the future of young people in the state.

Enwere said the scheme is designed to ensure that no qualified student in Abia is prevented from sitting the examination conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) due to financial constraints.

“Today is not just about registration. It is about hope, opportunity, and investing in the future of Abia State,” he said.

Enwere said the scholarship targets indigent but brilliant students, reduces the financial burden on parents and guardians, and expands access to tertiary education.

“This is not politics as usual; this is purposeful leadership in action,” he said.

He added that the initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and urged beneficiaries to demonstrate discipline and hard work.

“As we sponsor your JAMB registration, we expect commitment and excellence. Make Abia proud. Make Nigeria proud,” he said.

Enwere acknowledged the sacrifices of parents and stakeholders and expressed optimism that the programme would be expanded in subsequent years.

He said the scholarship marks the beginning of broader youth-focused interventions aimed at promoting sustainable development in the south-east.

The event was attended by students, parents and education stakeholders, who described the initiative as timely amid economic challenges.
