APC Are Afraid of E-Transmission Despite Having 30 Governors – Obi Sounds Alarm

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has come under heavy fire for its perceived resistance to the electronic transmission of election results.
Human rights and social justice advocate, Ene Obi, raised this alarm while questioning why a party with such a dominant grip on the country’s leadership would be hesitant to embrace technological transparency in the electoral process.
Speaking during an appearance on the ARISE TV Morning Show on Friday, Obi expressed deep concern over the current state of Nigeria’s democracy.
She pointed out the irony of the APC’s stance, noting that a party claiming to have the support of 30 state governors should have no reason to fear a system designed to ensure the integrity of votes.
According to her, the legislative excuses regarding poor network coverage are a deliberate attempt to mislead the public. She argued that such justifications are not only baseless but also a direct mockery of the Nigerian people.
“Civil Society Organisations are overwhelmed. We need citizens to rise up. The National Assembly’s excuse on network coverage insults Nigerians’ intelligence. The nation’s future is at stake; we’re weakening the system we thought we had strengthened,” Obi stated during the interview.
The activist lamented that the progress made in reforming the nation’s electoral laws is being systematically dismantled.
She warned that the country is at a breaking point where the silence of the masses could lead to a total collapse of democratic structures.
Obi urged Nigerians to take a more active role in demanding accountability, stressing that the responsibility of saving the nation no longer rests solely on the shoulders of advocacy groups.
She further criticized the National Assembly for prioritizing political interests over the collective will of the citizens.
