Over 30 people killed as bandits launch fresh attack in Zamfara community

A recent attack by some suspected bandits in Dutsin Dan Ajiya village, Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State has led to the killing of over 30 people.

It was gathered that the suspected bandits on Thursday invaded the village on motorbikes and shot sporadically into the air.

The bandits were also said to have blocked all theaccess roads linking to the communityto other villages within the state and beyond.

A resident who confirmed the attack said that the bandits after blocking both entry and exit routes, unleashed untold terror on the villagers who tried to scamper for safety during the incident.

According to the resident, over 30 bodies have since been recovered after the attack while several other members of the community were still missing.

“The attack resulted in the death of at least 30 residents, both men and women. Many were wounded, and several others were abducted during the raid,” the resident said.

Zamfara State is one of the North-West Nigerian States that has been under constant attack by bandits.

The bandits in their usual manner invade communities, kill its defences residents while destroying homes and other properties leading to a rising number of internally displaced persons in the state.
