Buhari’s ex-aide hosts Peter Obi, says talks centred on ADC’s future

Lauretta Onochie, Late President Muhammadu Buhari’s media aide and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has revealed that she hosted Peter Obi at her residence for discussions centred on the future of the party and Nigeria.

In a post shared on social media, Onochie described Obi as a respected leader of the ADC and said their conversation focused on strengthening the party.

Her words: “Yesterday, I had the honour of hosting Mr. Peter Obi, a respected leader of our great party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC), in my home.

“Our discussions were frank, forward-looking and deeply centred on the future of the ADC and the progress of Nigeria.

“We examined the challenges before our party, the expectations of Nigerians, and the responsibility we carry to offer principled, people-focused leadership.”

The Delta-born politician said she appreciated the former Anambra state governor for making out time for the meeting.

“I am truly thankful to him for taking the time out of his busy schedule, to visit, to listen, and to share his thoughts with sincerity and conviction.

“Leadership is strengthened through dialogue, unity and mutual respect — and yesterday reflected all three,” she stated.

She added that members of the ADC remain committed to building a stronger party.

“The task ahead is great, but so is the resolve of all of us in ADC. Together, we will continue to build a stronger ADC and work toward the Nigeria our people deserve.”
