Suspected Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists reportedly attacked the Garahamojili military camp of the Nigerian Army in Adamawa State, killing at least two soldiers during a fierce gun battle.
According to reports, the insurgents launched the assault on Sunday, engaging troops in a 20-minute firefight before overpowering the position.
Two soldiers were confirmed dead in the attack, while an unspecified number of others are believed to have sustained injuries.
The attackers reportedly set parts of the camp ablaze, destroying structures and burning three military vehicles stationed at the facility.
They also allegedly seized weapons and ammunition before retreating to undisclosed locations.
The Nigerian military has not yet issued a formal statement on the attack or provided further details on casualties and material losses.
Adamawa State, which shares a border with Borno State, the epicentre of insurgency in Nigeria, has experienced intermittent attacks in recent months.
