22 Adamawa Commissioners, Advisers Defect to APC in Support of Governor Fintiri

Twenty-two Commissioners and Special Advisers in Adamawa State on Friday announced their defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), pledging allegiance to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
Politics Nigeria earlier reported that the governor had earlier formally registered with the APC the same day.
Chairman of the Commissioners’ Forum, Alloucious Babadoke, said members of the State Executive Council decided to align politically with the governor.
“On behalf of the 22 executive council members, I declare our total loyalty and commitment to the fresh air administration by joining the APC. The commissioners supported the governor’s political decisions because his leadership has positioned the state as a developmental model,” Babadoke said.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Information, James Iliya, said he was prepared to mobilise supporters across the state to register with the APC.
The governor’s special advisers also jointly resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the APC.
The Forum of Special Advisers, in a statement signed by its Chairman, Bala Jada, said the decision followed wide consultations with stakeholders, including community leaders, youth groups, women’s associations, and professional bodies.
Jada explained that the move was not driven by hostility but was a forward-looking step taken after reflection, consultations, and conviction.
The defectors expressed appreciation to the people of the state for their continued support and promised to intensify grassroots mobilisation for APC membership.
According to them, the political realignment would strengthen the state’s representation at the national level.
