“If it’s Senator Natasha my face would be bolder” – Umahi reacts to sexual harassment allegation

The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi has reacted to the allegation of sexual harassment against him by a woman Tracy Ohiri.

Umahi while speaking to journalists on Saturday, said that despite the allegation, he does not believe that there is anything wrong with a man wooing a woman.

He also dismissed the allegation by Ohiri that he owed her money from a business transaction.

According to Umahi, he has never harassed anyone, sexually or otherwise, while in office.

“I want to thank a lot of you who know me very well. I owe nobody. And of course, I presided over both men and women, and nobody ever said I harassed him or her,” Umahi said.

He further noted that throughout his eight-year tenure as governor, his achievements in office should be evidence of his committment to service.

“I was governor for eight years, and I did fantastic infrastructure. So nobody could come and accuse me wrongly unless they were being mischievous.

“There is nothing wrong to say, oh, you are chasing a woman. If it’s Senator Natasha that said I’m chasing her, my face would be bolder, not anyhow person that’ll accuse this handsome man of chasing her for 12 years,” he said.

Speaking further, the minister described the allegation by Ohiri as social media buzz.

He urged Nigerians to ignore the commentary surrounding the allegations and focus on global and developmental issues that affect the nation.

“It’s just for social media, but I think we can turn our attention to the war in Iran and allow Umahi to rest,” he said.
