“Tinubu helping Military strengthen its operations in Benue” – Gov Alia

The Benue State governor, Hyacinth Alia has commended President Bola Tinubu over his support for the Nigerian Military.
The governor said the president is doing everything possible to ensure that troops are provided with sophisticated weapons and the necessary military hardware needed for the fight against bandits and terrorists operating in Benue State.
Alia gave the commendation during a courtesy visit by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu at the Government House in Makurdi on Thursday.
In a statement issued by the Army Public Relations, Colonel Appolonia Anele, the governor said the president’s support has strengthened military operations across the nation.
He also welcomed the recent deployment of Nigerian Army troops to the state.
Also speaking, General Shaibu assured the governor and the people of Benue State of the Army’s committment to improving the security situation in Benue.
He said that with the improved operational capacity of the Army, the state would begin to witness better security results in the state.
According to Shaibu, President Tinubu has made modern weapons and combat equipment available for the military to enhance troops’ operations in the field.
He also appreciated the governor and resident of the state for their support of the troops deployed to Benue.
“I commend the cooperation given to troops of Operation WHIRL STROKE, as such support has contributed to the progress of our ongoing military operations.
“I urge the state government and residents to continue working closely with the military and other security agencies, as strong cooperation is essential to restoring lasting peace and stability,” Shaibu said.
