JUST IN: Reno Omokri gets Mexico as Tinubu approves posting of 65 ambassadors

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the postings of 65 ambassadors to Nigerian missions abroad.

The list comprises 31 non-career ambassadors and 34 career ambassadors confirmed by the Nigerian Senate in December 2025.

Among the non-career ambassadors are Senator Ita Enang, former presidential aide, who was posted to South Africa.

Grace Bent, a former senator, was posted to Togo, Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide, was posted to Mexico.

Mahmud Yakubu, chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), was posted to Qatar.

Lateef Kayode Are, former Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), was posted to the United States.

Jimoh Ibrahim, senator representing Ondo south, was appointed Nigeria’s permanent representative to the United Nations.

Femi Fani-Kayode, former minister of aviation, was posted to Germany, while Isaac Adewole, former minister of health, was posted to Canada.

Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau, former minister of interior, was posted to China, Olufemi Pedro, former deputy governor of Lagos state, was posted to Australia., while Aminu Dalhatu was posted to the United Kingdom as Nigeria’s high commissioner.

Bayo Onanuga, special adviser to the president on information and strategy, said the president has directed the ministry of foreign affairs to immediately commence the induction programme for the ambassadors-designate and high commissioners.
