Yobe Government Gifts Brand New Vehicles, Money to APC LG Chairmen

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has provided brand-new vehicles to the 17 Local Government chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, in a move aimed at strengthening the party’s grassroots structure.

The vehicles, which are Honda Accord cars, were formally handed over on Monday at the APC state secretariat in Damaturu.

The presentation was carried out by the Deputy Governor, Idi Barde Gubana, who represented the governor at the event.

Speaking during the ceremony, Gubana explained that the gesture was intended to support party officials at the local government level and improve their ability to coordinate political activities across the state.

According to him, the support from the governor reflects the administration’s commitment to building a stronger party structure ahead of future political engagements.

He urged the local government chairmen to make good use of the vehicles and remain focused on strengthening the party at the grassroots.

“The vehicles are meant to support your activities and help you mobilise support for the party’s policies and programmes in your respective local governments,” he said.

The deputy governor also warned party leaders against actions capable of causing division within the APC in the state. He stressed the importance of unity and loyalty among party members, noting that internal disagreements could weaken the party’s influence.

Gubana further reminded the chairmen of the need to follow established party rules in carrying out their responsibilities.

“Local government party chairmen must comply with APC guidelines and maintain close collaboration with key state stakeholders in all their activities,” he added.

Earlier, the Yobe APC Chairman, Muhammad Gadaka, commended Governor Buni for the support given to party officials.

He described the gesture as a demonstration of the governor’s commitment to strengthening the party structure across all the local government areas.

“We are grateful to the governor for this generous gesture. The beneficiaries must reciprocate by remaining committed to the success of the party,” he said.

Beyond the vehicles, the governor also extended support to members of the party’s state executive committee. A total of 37 officials received Sallah clothing materials and wrappers as part of preparations for the upcoming festive period.

In another show of support, the Secretary to the Yobe State Government, Baba Malam Wali, donated N2 million to the local government chairmen.

The money, according to officials, is meant to assist them with fueling the newly distributed vehicles.
