BREAKING: Defence Minister Holds Emergency Meeting With Service Chiefs Over Terrorist Attacks

Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Musa (Rtd), has convened all Service Chiefs at his office for a critical meeting concerning the recent spate of attacks on military bases in the North East.
Attending the meeting at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Abuja are the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, and the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu.
Also present are the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abass; representatives from the National Intelligence Agency, and other key security officials.
According to reports, at least three Commanding Officers at the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel were recently killed by terrorists in Borno State. In addition to these officers, scores of soldiers have lost their lives, while hundreds of civilians abducted during attacks remain in captivity.
Before the meeting went into closed session, Defence Minister Musa said the gathering would focus on reviewing strategies to strengthen military operations against terrorists, despite some losses on the armed forces’ side.
“We know we have recorded some casualties, but the losses are heavier on the side of the terrorists,” the retired four-star General said during the brief session.
