FCT lawmaker Obika dumps Labour Party for APC

A member of the House of Representatives Joshua Chinedu Obika has announced his resignation as a member of the Labour Party.

Obika, who represents AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency of the Federal Capital Territory said he was leaving the Labour Party for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He made his decision to leave the party public on the floor of the Green Chambers on Wednesday, March 11.

According to Obika, the internal leadership crisis rocking the Labour Party forced him to defect to the APC.

He also said that he believes his new party, APC will provide him the opportunity and platform needed to champion his political career.

The lawmaker further declared that he strongly believes he will have a better chance at serving members of his constituency through the ruling party.

Receiving the notice of his defection, Tajudeen Abbas, the Speaker of the House of Representatives welcomed the lawmaker to the APC.
