Terrorists and Their Sympathisers Deserve Death, Not Forgiveness — Adeyanju to FG

Activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju has stated that terrorists and their sympathisers deserve death, not forgiveness.

Adeyanju made the declaration while urging the Federal Government to adopt a tougher stance in tackling terrorism.

In a statement on his X page, he argued that individuals involved in terrorism, as well as those supporting them, should face the death penalty rather than being granted leniency.

He criticised what he described as the government’s tendency to show mercy toward terrorists, warning that such actions could undermine efforts to combat insecurity.

Adeyanju called on the Nigerian government to end policies that appear to pardon or reintegrate terrorists, insisting that a firm and uncompromising response is essential to deter violent extremism and protect citizens.

Terrorists and their sympathizers deserve death, not forgiveness. The Nigerian government must stop forgiving and romancing terrorism,” he wrote.

The remarks come as the Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, assured Nigerians that terrorists and bandits are facing heavy casualties in ongoing military operations across the country.

Speaking with journalists after a security meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Musa said the Armed Forces briefed the President on the latest security situation and addressed what he called “misleading interpretations” circulating in the media.
