BREAKING: Tinubu Orders Appointees Seeking Elections to Resign, Gives Deadline

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has issued a decisive directive to all political appointees with ambitions for elective offices in the upcoming general elections.

In a move aimed at ensuring governance remains unencumbered by political campaigning, the President has ordered such officials to vacate their positions no later than March 31.

The instruction was conveyed through a circular issued by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume.

The directive emphasizes that the resignation of these officials is necessary to maintain the integrity of the administration’s “Renewed Hope” agenda, preventing a conflict of interest as the political season intensifies.

The presidency noted that this order applies to Ministers, Commissioners, Special Advisers, and heads of government agencies who intend to participate as candidates in the next electoral cycle.
