JUST IN: Shettima, Obasanjo, Jonathan Arrive for Soludo’s Second-Term Inauguration [VIDEO]
Vice President Kashim Shettima, along with former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, arrived at Chinua Achebe Airport on Tuesday to attend the second-term inauguration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
A video shared by Anambra State New Media confirmed the dignitaries’ arrival, showing Vice President Shettima and former President Obasanjo touching down at the airport, followed by former President Jonathan.
The high-profile ceremony was also expected to host several eminent personalities, including elder statesmen such as former Emeka Anyaoku.
The event is taking place at the newly renovated Alex Ekwueme Square, with traditional rulers from all 179 communities in the state, as well as monarchs from other parts of Nigeria, in attendance.
Governor Soludo, re-elected on November 8, 2025, under the All Progressives Grand Alliance, mobilised members from all 326 political wards to participate in the inauguration.
Security has been tightened across the state, with personnel from the police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Federal Road Safety Corps, and other agencies deployed to key locations.
The governor and his deputy concluded their first term on Sunday with an interdenominational thanksgiving service at the International Convention Centre.
