2027: “It will be difficult for anybody to defeat Tinubu in FCT” – Wike boasts

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike has said that it would be difficult for any candidate to defeat President Bola Tinubu in the forthcoming 2027 presidential election.
Speaking while inspecting some infrastructural projects in the satellite areas of the FCT said Tinubu’s administration is focused on infrastructure that would result in rapid development of the suburban communities in the territory.
He also said that these “rapid” development plans would also reduce the already existing pressure on the city centre.
Making stops at the 13km Karu road, the Apo-Karshi road, the emergency construction of the Bwari-Kubwa road, and the rehabilitation of the Gbazango (Arab Road) in Kubwa, Wike the initiative would not only stimulate the local economy but also curb rural-urban migration across the FCT.
He further assured that the present administration, led by President Tinubu, is committed to improving the lives of FCT residents.
Boasting that the administration’s transformation has won the people’s confidence, the Minister said residents are in awe of the ministry’s work.
“It is very difficult for anybody to win an election in the FCT against Mr President, adding that, “Because to them (residents), it is surprising what they have seen in their lives.
“The President said there is no need for over-concentration of development in the city; you have to go down to the satellite towns. That alone would have to discourage rural-urban migration. Look at this Bwari-Kubwa road; when I first came to this area, it was unpassable.
“Now you can imagine, having done this road, what the economic activities will be. While you are doing that of the city, you must also know that the satellite towns are part of the FCT. If that is done, obviously, nobody will complain,” Wike said.
