“Rally behind Tinubu to overcome global challenges” – DSP Barau tells Nigerians

Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin has urged Nigerians to rally behind President Bola Tinubu to help the country overcome global challenges.
Jibrin spoke with journalists on Friday at the national Eid ground in Abuja after the Eid-el-Fitr prayers led by Prof. Illiasu Usman, chief imam of the national mosque.
Jibrin said Nigerians supporting the federal government would accelerate the country’s journey towards prosperity.
He cited conflicts in parts of the world, including the Middle East and Europe, as reasons Nigerians should unite behind the government.
His words: “What we need at this time is to continue supporting Mr President, all of us, and to continue praying for him so that he can succeed in his efforts to bring prosperity to our nation.
“We are facing global problems that are all over the world. We can see what is happening in the Middle East and other parts of the world. The world is full of challenges, and we are not an exception.
“So what we need at this period is to continue to support the President and pray for our nation, because we know, all of us who are working with him that he’s determined to bring prosperity to our nation.”
Jibrin also congratulated Muslims in Nigeria and across the world on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast.
“At the end of the prayers, I felicitated with the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, other leaders and indeed all Ummah, on the successful completion of the Ramadan Fast.
“May Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala help our country, unite our country, and help Mr President in his efforts to reform the country for the better and to bring prosperity to our nation,” he stated.
In his remarks after the prayers, the chief imam urged leaders at all levels to intensify efforts to tackle insecurity in the country.
“Since genuine development cannot take place in any insecure or violence-riddled society, government at all levels in Nigeria should intensify more their wars against blood thirsty criminals in our midst,” he said.
