‘We Share Common Values’ — FFK Calls Peace After 24-Hour Clash With Dele Momodu

A fresh calm appears to have returned after a heated exchange between former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, and media entrepreneur, Dele Momodu, which lasted for about a day.
The disagreement, which played out publicly, had drawn attention across political and media circles.
Fani-Kayode confirmed that both parties have now agreed to step back from the confrontation.
He made this known in a message shared on his official Facebook page on Thursday, where he pointed to the role played by respected individuals in restoring peace.
“As a consequence of the intervention of numerous highly respected leaders for whom I have the greatest admiration, a ceasefire between myself and my friend and brother Bob D is now in place,” he wrote.
The former minister described Momodu as a friend and brother despite their political differences. He stressed that there would be no further public attacks from his side, while also expressing hope that the same approach would be adopted in return.
“We are both Nigerians and we share common values even though we disagree politically,” he added.
The clash between the two men had generated strong reactions online, with supporters on both sides exchanging words. Their disagreement was marked by sharp criticisms and personal remarks, making it one of the most talked-about issues within the political space over the last 24 hours.
Although Dele Momodu has not issued any official response regarding the ceasefire, there are indications that many of their followers are relieved by the development. Some have called for restraint and maturity in political discourse, especially among prominent public figures.
Fani-Kayode also acknowledged that the exchanges during the dispute were harsh. He, however, expressed confidence that both sides can now move forward without further hostility.
“I believe we can both move on with our lives peacefully as from today despite the hurtful things that were said on both sides over the last 24 hours,” he stated.
