“Gov Otti abandoned those who worked for him” – Abia APC Chairman

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State, Chijioke Chukwu has accused Governor Alex Otti of abandoning all those who worked for his victory in the 2023 general election.

Speaking to some supporters and members of the APC in the state on Saturday, Chukwu said the governor betrayed those who trusted him with their hard work and committment during the last election.

According to Chukwu, some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at that time worked against each other and their party to ensure the emergence of Otti as governor of the state.

He added that after winning the election, the governor abandoned the people with the claim that politicians are not to be trusted.

He also alleged that rather than working with people who had invested in his victory, the governor went all the way to Lagos to bring strangers, whom he claimed are technocrats to serve in his government.

Chukwudi said, “Otti was with the APC few months before he became governor, he benefited from your hard work. Even the PDP members betrayed themselves out of anger to make sure he became the governor. And immediately he became a governor, he abandoned everybody who worked for him.

“And he went to Lagos and brought strangers who do not even know the number of their polling units. Monkey dey work baboon dey chop,” Chukwu stated.

Further addressing his audience in pidgin, Chukwu alleged that Otti became a governor and realised that those who had stood with him were not worthy to be part of his government.

He said, “Na when em win election e come know say una no go school. Na then em come understand say politicians are not straightforward people. Say em na technocrat.”
