Terrorists send letter to Kwara communities, threaten fresh attacks

Some terrorists have threatened to attack various communities in three Local Government Areas in Kwara State.
The terrorists’ threat was contained in a message delivered to the communities in the Kwara South Senatorial District.
The coordinator of the Joint Security Watch in the senatorial district, Olaitan Zubair in a statement confirmed the threat by the dreaded group.
Zubair, in the statement, also copied the Kwara State Commissioner of Police and the chairmen of Ifelodun, Irepodun, and Isin LGAs.
According to him, the terrorists had threatened to carry out attacks within the LGAs between March 23 and 28.
“We’re bringing to your attention reports of potential security threats targeting Kwara on March 23 and possible attacks on Yorubaland from March 28, post-Ramadan,” Zubair said.
Further calling for heightened security surveillance in the district, he noted that residents of the communities are anxious and worried about their safety.
“We urge immediate action and heightened vigilance to protect citizens.
“The people are anxious and need reassurance of their safety. Awaiting your prompt response and action,” Zubair added.
