Gombe NNPP Chairman Makko Dumps Party, Cites Political Reasons

The Gombe State Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Kabir Makko, has resigned from his position and membership of the party.

In a resignation letter addressed to the NNPP Chairman of Akko Ward and obtained by reporters, Makko announced his decision to step down from both his leadership role and affiliation with the party.

He stated that his resignation from the New Nigeria Peoples Party takes effect from March 23, 2026, and includes his position as the Gombe State chairman.

“By this resignation, I also relinquish my position as the Gombe State Party Chairman. This decision has been made after careful political consideration,” he said.

Makko expressed appreciation to party members and stakeholders for their support during his tenure.

Copies of the resignation letter were also forwarded to the NNPP National Chairman.
