JUST IN: Gov Soludo appoints 39-year-old woman as first ever female SSG in Anambra

Governor Charles Soludo has appointed Chiamaka Nnake as Secretary to the State Government (SSG) in Anambra.

With the appointment, Nnake who is 39 years old and from Njikoka local government area of Anambra, is the first woman to occupy the position in the state.

The appointment was announced in a statement on Monday by Mr. Christian Aburime, press secretary to the governor.

Nnake recently served as commissioner for budget and economic planning and succeeds Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu.

As commissioner for budget and economic planning, Nnake led the mobilisation, planning and allocation of state resources aimed at driving socio-economic development.

She held leadership roles across several state institutions, including the Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency, the Internal Revenue Service Board and the Small Business Agency.

Nnake also served as the state’s reform champion for ease of doing business and focal point for social investment programmes.

She is the Nigeria chairperson for the Human Capital Opportunities for Prosperity and Equity (HOPE) programme.

Before joining public service, Nnake worked as a senior strategy consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers Nigeria.

At PwC, she led more than 30 client engagements across sectors including financial services, government and agriculture.

Earlier in her career, she worked as a business analyst at IHS Towers and as an equity research analyst at Meristem Securities Limited.

She holds a master of business administration from Lagos Business School and graduated with first-class honours in accounting from Benson Idahosa University.

Nnake is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a member of the ACCA national advisory committee.
