2027: Desperate Tactic — Abia APC Dismisses Otti’s Alleged Support for Tinubu

The Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has advised Governor Alex Otti to openly declare his support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu, rather than doing so through proxies.
The party also claimed that Governor Otti’s chances of securing a second term are below 30 per cent.
In a statement issued on Monday by its Publicity Secretary, Uche Aguoru, the APC was reacting to comments by Ginger Onwusibe, a member of the House of Representatives under the Labour Party, who reportedly said Governor Otti would deliver Abia votes for Tinubu’s victory in 2027.
The APC alleged that such claims reflect desperate political survival tactics within the governor’s camp.
“Rather than openly and boldly identifying with President Tinubu, he has chosen to deploy proxies to communicate supposed support,” the statement read.
“This sudden declaration of support is nothing more than a desperate and deceptive tactic aimed at political survival.
“It is clear that Governor Otti understands the reality on ground—that his chances of re-election are less than 30 per cent, even with all the social media-sponsored deception,” the party added.
The APC further expressed confidence in its own strength, claiming it has the capacity to deliver up to 90 per cent of the votes for the president in Abia, and urged Tinubu to disregard what it described as misleading overtures.
