El-Rufai’s son visits ADC senator amid rumours of defection to opposition party

Hon. Bello El-Rufai, member of the House of Representatives for Kaduna North Federal Constituency, on Tuesday, visited Senator Lawal Adamu Usma representing Kaduna Central, amid rumours that he plans to defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

El-Rufai, however, disclosed the purpose of the visit in a post on his social media page.

He said the senator, popularly known as “Mr La”, had supported several initiatives that benefited residents of Kaduna north LGA.

His words: “Earlier today, I visited the Senator representing Kaduna Central Zone, Distinguished Sen. Lawal Adamu Usman – Mr, La, popularly known as Mr. La.

“The general public can recall the countless times I have thanked the Senator for initiatives particularly in the Kaduna North that Constituency that I humbly represent.

“His empowerment initiatives have been beneficial to many citizens of our Kaduna North one of the LGAs under his stewardship. I visited his home after escorting our beloved father, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai to the Kaduna High Court.

“The purpose of the visit was to thank my elder brother on his ethical stand and solidarity towards our father, the Father Modern Kaduna in my view.”

Bello said the senator had planned to attend the court session but was unable to do so because the road was blocked.

“The Senator had tried to come to court to personally join us in solidarity, but the road was blocked. I thought it was prudent to visit him and publicly appreciate his gesture.”

Bello thanked the senator for his guidance and support over the past three years.

His words: “Allah ya bar zumunci Senator. Please join me in thanking him and praying for him. Thank you for the guidance and continued support for the last three years.

“On behalf of our family, thank you to everyone supporting Mallam in one form or the other. We are grateful for all the prayers and well wishes.”
