Rep member laments over Tinubu’s govt decision to withhold Osun LGA funds for one year

Hon. Bamidele Salam, a member of the House of Representatives, says funds meant for local governments in Osun state have been withheld by the Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government for about one year.
Salam said legitimately elected local government chairmen and councillors in the state have been prevented from accessing their secretariats.
He alleged that “illegitimate occupiers”, aided by the police, have continued to lay siege to local government secretariats despite court judgements.
Salam, however, said Governor Ademola Adeleke has continued to support local government responsibilities despite the situation, adding that the governor has continued to pay the salaries of local government workers in the state.
Salam added that Adeleke has also maintained primary healthcare centres and paid the salaries of primary school teachers.
He said the governor has also continued to undertake other statutory responsibilities of local governments.
Salam said Adeleke has sacrificed some benefits to ensure the delivery of projects and programmes that improve the welfare of residents.
“He denies himself and other state officials of many statutory benefits in order to deliver on projects and programmes that promote the peoples well being. Let’s vote for him again on the 15th of August so that this great work can continue,” he said.
