One Dead, Several Injured in Fatal Road Crash Involving APC Delegates
Delegates from Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State, who were en route to the All Progressives Congress (APC) North-West Zonal Congress, were involved in a road accident while travelling to the venue.
The crash reportedly claimed the life of one of the delegates, Dalhat Machika.
Among those injured are former Deputy Governor of the state, Hon. Sirajo Umar Damari, as well as the APC Chairman of Sabuwa Local Government Area.
In a statement issued by Malam Ibrahim Kaula, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, the victims are currently receiving treatment at Yusuf Dantsoho Memorial Hospital.
The statement further disclosed that Governor Radda visited the hospital shortly after the APC North-West Zonal Congress to assess the condition of the injured.
During the visit, the governor expressed sympathy to the victims and their families, prayed for their quick recovery, and assured them of the government’s support in the wake of the incident.
He was accompanied by the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Hon. Ibrahim Kabir Masari; the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir; and other senior government officials.
