Days after hosting Peter Obi, Kwankwaso meets ex-minister Aregbesola [PHOTO]

Amid speculations of his possible defection from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) to the African Democratic Congress, the former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso meet with a former minister of interior, Rauf Aregbesola.
Kwankwaso hosted Aregbesola, ADC’s National Secretary to a private meeting in Abuja.
The meeting between the duo comes barely five days after Kwankwaso hosted the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi and other top politicians including Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state in Kano.
In a post made on his social media handle, Kwankwaso said he hosted Aregbesola on Thursday.

While he did not specify where the meeting took place, a source close to the former Kano governor said Aregbesola visited him at his Abuja residence.
Kwankwaso said in a photo post, “It was a pleasure to receive my dear friend, His Excellency Rauf Aregbesola, former Governor of Osun State and National Secretary of the ADC, this evening at my residence in Abuja.”
A strong political influence in Kano State, the former governor is speculated to be leaving the NNPP alongside his supporters – members of the Kwankwasiyya Movement – who form the largest part of the party.
Some sources believe the political heavyweight would be dumping his party for the ADC while others speculate a possibility of a merger between the two parties.
