Turaki-Led NWC Holds Closed-Door Meeting with Wabara-Led BoT Over Party Crisis

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party, led by Tanimu Turaki, is currently holding a closed-door meeting with the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT), chaired by Adolphus Wabara, in Abuja.
The meeting marks the third such engagement held this week.
During a similar meeting on Wednesday, Turaki’s faction indicated its willingness to reconcile with the camp aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Turaki also noted that ongoing discussions were showing encouraging signs of reaching a truce.
Meanwhile, the caretaker committee of the PDP led by Abdulrahman Mohamed, which is backed by Wike, has also expressed openness to reconciliation. However, the group insisted that certain conditions must be met, including that the party’s planned national convention scheduled for March 29 and 30 must proceed as planned.
Among those present at the ongoing meeting are former Niger State governor Babangida Aliyu, former Kano State governor Ibrahim Shekarau, and former Minister of Information Jerry Gana.
