“We’re sending a clear message that PDP is united” – Sen Natasha says

The Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has said that the success of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) 2026 National Convention is a clear message to the public.
Speaking while moving a motion at the just concluded convention, Akpoti-Uduaghan highlighted the importance of unity, legality, and institutional stability within the party.
She also noted that the formal ratification of the party’s ward, local government, state, and zonal congresses across the country is essential to consolidating the PDP’s democratic foundations.
“Today’s decision is not merely procedural; it is a reaffirmation of our collective commitment to internal democracy, party discipline, and respect for due process. The PDP remains a party governed by rules, consultations, and the will of its members at all levels,” Akpoti-Uduaghan said.
The motion sought the convention’s approval to ratify congresses conducted in several states, following resolutions of the National Executive Committee (NEC) and recommendations of the National Caretaker Working Committee (NCWC), in compliance with court judgments and the party’s constitutional provisions.
Presenting the prayer, Akpoti-Uduaghan urged all party delegates to consider the exercise as an vita step toward reinforcing grassroots participation and restoring conviction among party faithful nationwide.
“Our strength as a political party lies in the credibility of our structures from the ward level upward. By ratifying these congresses, we are sending a clear message that the PDP is united, organised, and prepared for the democratic responsibilities ahead,” she added.
