Again, Israel Hits Iran’s Capital As Trump Prepares For War Address

After weeks of battle, Israel launched fresh strikes on Iran’s capital, Tehran, on Wednesday, in a major escalation of the ongoing conflict, as US President Donald Trump prepared to address the American public on the war.

Iranian state media reported explosions across several parts of Tehran, including the north, east and central districts, while Israel confirmed carrying out what it described as a “wide-scale wave of strikes” on the city.

The latest bombardment comes amid a conflict that began on February 28 and has since expanded across the region, raising fears of wider instability and economic disruption.

Trump, who has alternated between hardline and conciliatory rhetoric, said earlier the war could end within “two weeks, maybe three,” adding, “But we’re finishing the job.”

The White House said the US leader would deliver “an important update on Iran” later Wednesday, as diplomatic efforts to end the fighting remain uncertain.

Iran’s President, Masoud Pezeshkian, said the country was willing to end the conflict, but only if assurances were given that hostilities would not resume.

Meanwhile, Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, insisted the military campaign would continue, declaring, “We had to act, and we acted… We will continue to crush the terror regime.”

The conflict has also widened beyond Iran and Israel, with attacks reported in Lebanon, Yemen and parts of the Gulf, while concerns grow over threats to key oil routes and the broader global economy.
