WATCH: ADC Releases Video Showing Nafiu Bala at David Mark’s Unveiling as Chairman

The leadership crisis rocking the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has taken a fresh turn after the party released a video showing Nafiu Bala at a major party event months ago.
The video, which surfaced on Monday, captures Nafiu Bala at the unveiling of David Mark as the interim national chairman of the ADC.
The event took place in July 2025 at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.
In the clip, Bala is seen seated calmly among top party figures. He appeared alongside other stakeholders, including Ishaku Abbo.
Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were also present at the gathering, giving the event an official tone.
The footage is now being widely circulated by party supporters and observers. It was shared with a caption that reads: “ADC releases video where Nafiu Bala was sighted at David Mark leadership unveiling after he tendered his resignation. The INEC representatives were also present at the event.”
This development is significant. It comes at a time when Bala is laying claim to the position of national chairman of the party. His claim has been a major point of dispute within the ADC in recent weeks.
Earlier reports had indicated that Bala stepped down from his role as Deputy National Chairman (North-East). An alleged resignation letter dated May 18, 2025, had surfaced online.
In that letter, he reportedly resigned to allow for smooth coalition talks and internal restructuring within the party.
However, the newly released video appears to complicate that narrative. Nafiu’s presence at the July unveiling raises fresh questions. Many are now asking whether his resignation was final, symbolic, or later withdrawn.
The situation has been further intensified by recent actions from INEC. Politics Nigeria earlier reported that the electoral body delisted David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola from the party’s leadership records. The move followed a court order directing a return to the party’s pre-July 2025 leadership structure.
