APC chieftain predicts President Tinubu will win all 36 states in 2027 elections

Senator Dayo Adeyeye, chairman of the South West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA), has predicted that President Bola Tinubu could become the first Nigerian leader to win all 36 states in the 2027 general election.
Adeyeye spoke in Akure, capital of Ondo state, during the launch of SWAGA 2.0, arguing that Nigeria would have faced economic collapse if the Tinubu administration had not implemented key economic reforms.
Adeyeye cited the removal of fuel subsidy and the halt of excessive monetary financing as measures that prevented the country from sliding into bankruptcy.
He said the federal government previously relied heavily on “ways and means” financing, describing the practice as printing money without corresponding productivity.
He said the policy pushed the economy to the brink, stressing that the naira could have collapsed without the reforms.
He said: “If not for some key aspects policies of Tinubu, I don’t know where Nigeria would be now. I want to assure you that by now, Nigeria would have been completely bankrupt.
“Maybe a litre of fuel would be selling for over 10,000, because you don’t even have the money to import it.”
Adeyeye said the administration’s policies have improved revenue allocation to states and local governments.
He said the increased revenue has enabled sub-national governments to meet obligations and execute projects.
Adeyeye also cited interventions in education, infrastructure and social support programmes.
On his part, Oyetunde Ojo, convener of SWAGA, said the group remains committed to sustaining the political movement that supported Tinubu’s emergence as president.
Ojo said SWAGA has long advocated policy directions such as subsidy removal and educational support initiatives.
Ojo urged state governments to ensure that revenues from subsidy removal are used for infrastructure and human capital development.
