Atiku, Makinde, Turaki, Obi, Others Hold Closed-Door Meeting in Abuja [PHOTOS]

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, and other prominent opposition figures on Wednesday converged on Abuja for a crucial closed-door meeting aimed at discussing key political developments and strategies ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The meeting, held at the Apo residence of David Mark, also had in attendance leaders of the factional African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) faction led by Tanimu Turaki.

Other notable attendees included former Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami; former governors Rotimi Amaechi, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, Aminu Tambuwal, Peter Obi, and Babangida Aliyu.

Also present were former Minister of Information, Jerry Gana; PDP National Secretary, Taofeeq Arapaja; ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi; and PDP National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong.

Sources within both the ADC and PDP factions disclosed that the meeting is focused on exploring possible collaboration among opposition leaders to challenge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 elections.

The sources added that discussions would also address internal crises within the parties, review pressing national issues, and outline strategic plans moving forward.

Both the ADC and PDP factions are currently facing leadership disputes, with rival groups and ongoing legal battles affecting party cohesion.

Details of the meeting are expected to emerge later.
