JUST IN: Atiku, Amaechi, Other ADC Leaders Join Protest in Abuja [VIDEOS]

Former Vice President and presidential aspirant of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, joined by former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi and other party leaders, staged a peaceful protest in Abuja on Wednesday over what they described as partisanship within Nigeria’s electoral body.
Atiku, who took to X to explain the action, said the protest was aimed at safeguarding democracy and preventing the rise of a dictatorship.
In his post, he stated, “Myself and other leaders of the ADC are peacefully protesting against the partisanship of the electoral umpire. Our patriotic stance is aimed at safeguarding our democracy and preventing the enthronement of a dictatorship.”
The protest, which drew supporters from various parts of the country, marks the latest in a series of actions by the ADC to highlight perceived irregularities in the conduct of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Party officials described the demonstration as a civic duty, insisting that it was non-violent and intended to send a strong message to the authorities about the importance of impartiality in the electoral process.
