2027 coalition: Former Minister of Police Affairs Waziri dumps PDP for ADC

A former Minister of Police Affairs, Adamu Waziri has resigned his membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Waziri who is also a member of the PDP Board of Trustees officially resigned from the party on Monday in Potiskum Local Government Area of Yobe State.

He was the governorship candidate for the PDP in Yobe State in the 2003 and 2007 elections.

In a letter submitted to the Ward Chairman at the Dogotubo Ward Centre in Potiskum, Waziri said he resigned from the PDP over its current leadership and direction as inconsistent with a major political party.

He said the PDP has lost the moral standing to bear the title of the primary opposition party in the country.

He also stated that he is desirous of developing the nation and recreating democracy, restoring good governance structures that would enable Nigerians to live in peace and prosperity.

He also assured the leadership of the ADC of his committment to mobilise his supporters to join the coalition party’s mandate of ousting the ruling All Progressives Congress from power.
