The governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule is currently under pressure to contest for the seat of Nasarawa North Senatorial District in the 2027 general election.
Sule came under pressure after some stakeholders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) announced their support for the governor.
The stakeholders majors from the Nassarawa Eggon Local Government Area of Nasarawa State said the governor possesses the capacity needed to represent the constituents at the National Assembly.
The stakeholders announced their support for Governor Sule at a meeting in Nasarawa Eggon town.
Speaking during the meeting, Mohammed Agah, the commissioner for water resources in the state said Sule is an exceptional leader.
Agah who led the group said a series of coordinated plans have been made to ensure Governor vies for the senatorial seat.
According to Agah, the governor’s contribution has led to several developments in Nasarawa.
He said the governor should not be allowed to end as governor but should be given the opportunity to serve the state in a different capacity.
In his address, Iliya Ibn-Aliyu, the Executive Chairman of Nassarawa Eggon LGA, reiterated Agah’s sentiments.
Ibn-Aliyu urged APC members in the state to remain united and strategic in their efforts.
He called on party members to remain loyal to the AOC while forming a united front against the opposition.
