Declaring their readiness to work with leaders and political groups in the Southwest region in support of Tinubu, members of the Arewa Think Tank said they were impressed with the leadership capability so far exhibited by the president.

The group led by its convener, Muhammad Yakubu met with Reuben Fasoranti, the National Leader of the Afenifere group in Akure, Ondo’s capital city on Monday.

During the meeting, Yakubu said the members of ATT, which comprises professionals from the 19 states across the Northern part of Nigeria, are interested in renewing their relationship with the Southwest.

He also stated that the Northern leaders have visited the Afenifere group to boldly announce their committment to President Tinubu’s ambition to seek re-election in 2027.

He said, “We are happy with him. We are impressed with his scorecard so far and we want to renew this support and collaboration with the South-West. We also want to thank the South-West elders, particularly the Afeniferes.”

In his address, Fasoranti who was represented by Olu Falae, a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation commended the Northern leaders for their boldness.

Falae said he was optimistic that President Tinubu’s administration would continue to deliver great benefits to Nigerians.

“We thank God now that we have a civilian president who has demonstrated, first, his understanding of the problems of Nigeria and the courage to deal with those problems. We all knew that our subsidy was benefiting a gang of people who became billionaires at our expense.

“But they persuaded us that it was in the interest of the masses that we should stay. No government in the past had the courage to touch it. But Tinubu had the courage, and he did it,” Falae said.

Highlighting some of the initiatives and policies adopted by Tinubu’s administration, Falae said things are getting better with Nigerians and Nigeria as a country.
