2027: Peter Obi has no plan for Nigerians, only criticises Tinubu – Reno Omokri

A former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has declared that Peter Obi, former presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has no clear plan for Nigeria.

Omokri said Obi only waits for President Bola Tinubu to make policies before criticising them, without offering alternatives.

His words: “Has Peter Obi given you any real plans about how he intends to fix Nigeria? Please fact-check me: He hasn’t.

“The man is empty. Being a good trader does not mean you will be a good leader. Constantly saying ‘In China, they did this and that’ is not a plan.”

Omokri said Tinubu came into office with the Renewed Hope agenda, which included removing fuel subsidy, floating the naira, devolving power to states and councils, and expanding Nigeria’s tax base.

He added that Tinubu’s policies have grown Nigeria’s economy from ₦269 trillion in May 2023 to ₦372 trillion in 2025, while non-oil revenue rose by 40.5 percent.

Omokri claimed that poverty worsened in Anambra during Obi’s tenure as governor, rising from 41.4 percent to 53.7 percent.

“In the absence of any tangible economic plans from Mr Obi, we can only go by his record in office, which means that if he becomes president of Nigeria, poverty can only increase,” Omokri said.
