2027: Tinubu will win by landslide, says Deputy Senate President Barau

Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin has declared that President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) will secure a landslide victory in the 2027 general elections.

Barau made the comment during the APC Northwest Zonal meeting held over the weekend in Kaduna.

The meeting was convened by Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State.

He said: “It is clear that in 2027, we are going to have a landslide victory, Insha’Allah. Let us keep cooperating with one another, support the President, and remain united so we can achieve our goals.”

According to him, recent defections from opposition parties into the APC are proof of the confidence Nigerians have in the Tinubu administration.

“The influx of opposition figures into our party is not by accident. It’s the result of President Tinubu’s leadership and the visible progress he’s making,” he said.

Barau pointed to improvements in security, particularly in the Northwest, as evidence of the government’s performance.

“Places that were once no-go areas, like Birnin Gwari and parts of the Abuja-Kaduna corridor, are now accessible. Security in the Northwest has significantly improved,” he added.

While admitting that Nigeria is still grappling with major challenges, he said ongoing reforms are signs of a government on the right path.

“It’s a work in progress. The President is working tirelessly to solve the challenges facing the nation, particularly insecurity in the North,” he said.

He also praised APC governors for their grassroots development efforts, which he said were helping to consolidate the party’s influence across the country.

Barau further commended APC National Chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for fostering unity within the party and called on members to sustain the momentum ahead of 2027.

“With our growing strength and the momentum we’ve gained, it feels like there’s no other political party in the country — especially in the Northwest.

“Let’s remain focused, united, and committed so we can deliver a resounding victory come 2027,” he added.
