The Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has announced the recovery and discharge of 23 COVID-19 patients from the state’s isolation centres.
Mr Mohammed disclosed this on his Twitter page on Tuesday morning. According to him, the latest development brings the total number of discharged cases in the state to 112.
He tweeted: “Good news. In the last 24 hours, an additional 23 persons, who formerly tested positive for #COVID19 have fully recovered and have been discharged from our isolation centres. This brings the total number of discharged cases in the state to 112.”
He, however, applauded the efforts of the frontline health workers in the state.
Data from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) showed that the country has so far tested 35, 345 persons since the beginning of the pandemic.
A breakdown of all the confirmed cases so far shows that 6,175 infections have been reported in Nigeria since the index case in February.
While 1,644 have recovered and have been discharged, a total of 191 deaths have been reported.
