The police in Rivers State have apprehended three individuals linked to the reported murder and organ harvesting of a man named Progress in Ogbaraye community, Abua/Odual Local Government Area.
They were apprehended for allegedly killing the physically challenged person and harvesting his organs.
Otuks, an okada rider from Aminigboko community, was transporting goods from Abua Central when the incident occurred.
Otuks mentioned that an unidentified man, suspected to be a ritual killer, hired five young men to obtain human body parts in exchange for a large sum of money, reportedly over N2 million.
Unfortunately, the victim in this case was the okada rider delivering someone’s luggage late at night.
Otuks added, “This incident happened along the Emebu/Obrean boundary. So, they killed the man and cut off some of his parts. It happened on Friday night. After committing the crime, they fled, but three of the suspects were later arrested.”
When contacted on Sunday evening, the spokesperson for the state Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the incident and the arrest of the suspects.
She stated, “Yes, I can confirm the incident. The three suspects who perpetrated that act have been arrested. They have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department.”
