Not more than three police officers have reportedly died after unknown gunmen set ablaze the Nsukwa Divisional Police Station in Aniocha South Local Government Area, Delta State.
Eyewitness reports indicate that the station was attacked around 2:00am on Sunday. The hoodlums took away ammunition before setting ablaze the building and operational vehicles.
Police officers in Ogwashi-Uku, a neighbouring community confirmed the attack but the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, DSP Bright Edafe, is yet to make an official statement with regards to the attack.
Over the past few weeks, dozens of police stations have been targeted in states such as Akwa-Ibom, Imo, Anambra and Imo.
