Olusegun Obasanjo, a former president of Nigeria is currently in Paris, France to testify before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) over an alleged breach of contract against the Federal Government of Nigeria
The suit filed by Sunrise Power accused the FG of breaching contract in connection with the the $6 billion Power deal popularly referred to as the Mambilla Power Deal.
In the arbitration proceedings witnesses include Obasanjo and a former president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari.
According to Daily Trust, both former Nigeria’s president are currently in Paris for the $2.3 billion arbitration proceedings before the ICC.
While Obasanjo is billed to testify today, Wednesday, January 22, 2025, it is not yet clear when Buhari would stand in the witness box.
The Chairman of Sunrise Power, Leno Adesanya had on the previous day, Tuesday, January 21, 2025, testified before the court.
