Minister reportedly sacks aides for ‘working’ against APC during Kogi Guber Polls

Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, Minister for Steel Development, has reportedly sacked his aides for allegedly working against the interest of his party – the All Progressives Congress (APC), during the just concluded Kogi governorship election.

In a statement by his Special Assistant on Political Matters, Hon. Solomon Itopa, the minister underscored the indispensability of loyalty, citing it as non-negotiable.

The statement noted that the dismissals were deemed necessary to establish a clear stance against insubordination, with the minister explicitly expressing a zero-tolerance policy towards disloyalty.

Itopa said the minister emphasized that loyalty must be absolute, stating that the sacked aides were no longer in service due to this breach.

His words:

“The sack was necessary in a bid to set a clear precedence that Hon. Minister will not accept any form of insubordination.

“Hon. Minister frowns clearly at disloyalty. Loyalty is either 100% or none. He wishes the sacked aides the very best in their future endeavours.”

During a visit to Governor Yahaya Bello after the election, the minister reaffirmed his allegiance to the APC and Governor Bello’s leadership in Kogi State politics.
